It's a lock designed to prevent anyone from unlocking the deadbolt on your door when you are home.

The lock comes with an adhesive backed washer to allow the purchaser to raise the lock from the door to match the height of the thumb turn on ALL deadbolts on the market.

Using these washers makes the lock easier to maneuver around obstacles on the door. The pin used to secure the bar in the locked or unlocked position contains a spring ball at the end preventing anyone outside the door from tampering with the lock.
